Fees for selling property
Hi, If I put my house on the market, would I have to pay any fees up front for anything before the sale of the house?

Hi.. depending on the agency most charge a marketing fee upfront plus a % of the sale price plus you will need a home report which varies in price though you can defer the payment on your home report for 9 months hope this helps good luck in selling.

The agents marketing fees should be broken down into the various components. If not i would certainly ask them to explain what the 'marketing' charge is for exactly and confirm in writing to you.

Most companies will charge in Scotland a marketing fee of around £300 plus vat upfront and fees ranging from 1.00% to 1.50%. However, the market is starting to change with companies like ourself being online and charging Fixed fees that range from £495.00 plus vat. However, shop around.
