EA fees on failed transaction?

Would you expect to pay a full estate agency fee if a buyer pulled out after exchange but before completion?

  • Most estate agents fees come payable on exchange, not completion. Its very rare to fail after exchange. Surely your solicitor took a deposit from the buyer, which you could apy them out of

  • Aside from the estate agent fee which will be determined purely by the contract you have with them, you are entitled to hefty compensation from the buyer for breaking the contract. I'd have your solictor outline what's possible.
