  • You could either put a new kitchen in to sell, or knock the price off and let a buyer sort it out. Kitchens are a personal choice, so a buyer might prefer a new kitchen of their choosing. I have seen houses with new kitchens that I would rip out and replace, either because they are not what I would choose or they are cheaply/badly done. Don’t think of it as losing money on the sale price, think of it as money saved not having to put a new kitchen in that might not necessarily sell the property.

  • As with everything in property, you need to base your decisions on what is happening in YOUR micro market. We can talk in general terms but property is all about location. Buyers for your type of property in your area may predominately be looking for "ready to go" homes (i.e. has a decent kitchen) and then again, they may not. Good idea to speak to 3 or 4 local estate agents and ask them what quality of kitchen is required to achieve a sale.
