Can I sell my own property on the internet? How sucessful is that?

How would I go about selling my own property without an agent? Is this a successful way? Would I just need a solicitor to complete the sale?

  • There is no reason that you cannot sell your home on the internet without an agent. The real problem is when people search for a home amongst all the web sites, private ones get over looked. It may be a cheaper alternative but, as an agent myself, I would suggest that you have a base price that you would be willing to accept. Why not keep that figure to yourself. Invite 2/3 agents to give their opinion on price. This will confirm your suspicions on price or assist you in further marketing advice. Ask them what their fees amount to. As long as the sale price covers their fees you have nothing to lose. Most agents are on a no sale no fee basis. It will take the stress out of what can be quite a frought subject. I wish you well in what ever you do. Regards Ian
