  • Better than some high street agents, they often just give narcissistic people the value they want to hear. We knew a couple going through marital difficulties, one cheated you see, then they couldn’t sell because they just wanted the property to be worth about 50k over. So online agents do it better! Still some never learn. Better to move on than hang around with a property that won’t sell because you think it is worth more than the one across the road..when it really isn't!

  • I can share our limited experience of marketing through an online agent. We have so far experienced a courteous, professional and friendly service from Hatched. We hope that our experience is pleasant throughout, whether we sell or not. We tried marketing through high street agents many years ago and found only the Halifax were nice to deal with. Our choice to go through an online agent is to pass a bigger saving on to a potential buyer. I am sure this is the reason many choose the online agent, price! Remember, online agents provide the same service. Although they don’t always know every area very well, this shouldn’t matter too much when you advertise on Zoopla, Rightmove and all the other sites they use. 99% of leads come through the internet sites, mainly Rightmove and Zoopla. You lose nothing by giving it a try.

  • An online estate agent who uses all the main property portals will provide as good a service as the high street agent. If you relied on people walking off the street into an office to look for properties, you would sell only about a dozen a year. The online agent is taking over where greedy estate agents left off, let down and did nothing more than drive expensive poncey cars to properties to overvalue them. Read reviews about the main estate agents and see how good they are! They are all the same, being an estate agent is not about being people's best friend, it is business. Save yourself the money and disappointment and try the online agent. Most people use at least two agents before they sell, if not more. Think about it, why do people try different agents?

  • Basically, they are the same as your regular high street agents -in some cases, even better. One thing is for sure, you will save lots of money, comparatively.

  • Have used two recently - Hatched and eMoov. Both were a pleasure to deal with and excellent value for money. I can't believe more vendors don't use them. There are some dodgy online estate agents out there though. Just make sure you use one of the top 3 - Housenetwork, Hatched, eMoov
