How do you find out how long a house has been on the market?

I'd ask the agent. I'd also check with the vendor if I went for a viewing and see if the answers tallied. You could also have a guess by looking at the photos on the websites (property portals or Estate Agents) because if the photo shows trees in blossom and it's the middle of winter then clearly it's been on the market for some time (and the agent should have noticed and updated his photos!
