Out-line planning permission.

Is it worth me applying for out-line planning permission before I sell my house - how much value could it add?

  • Really depends on what the OPP is for. If it's for an additional dwelling to be built on the plot then "yes", there will be an increase in value however, if the OPP is for an extension the don't expect there to be an increase in value. The best you can hope for is that it helps the property sell faster and attract more interest (which may indeed yield you a better sale price due to increased competition). All very micro-market dependent stuff really. Best to speak to 3-5 local agents (office managers preferably) and seek their opinion on the specifics as it relates to your property.
