Traffic in Aberdeen!

I'm moving to Aberdeen soon. My boyfriend is working in Tullos Ind Estate and me near Turriff. We had thought about living around Duthie Park so his commute is very quick. Can anyone give me a realistic estimate on how long it would take me from Duthie Park to Turriff, arriving in Turriff for about 8.15 and heading back down the road about 5pm. Any suggestions of where to live that would be good for commuting to these places would be welcome as I don't know Aberdeen at all!! Thanks

  • Turrif to Duthie Park (Ferryhill)?? Would this be every weekday for you? The commute by car is long and its likely you will have to cross the city. Best to take the train I guess. You can walk to the station in Aberdeen depending on which end of Ferryhill you live. If you are leaving home before 6.30am each day, you may be able to make it. Duthie Park is alright. Very close to Tullos. Hardly any traffic. Lovely park and very quiet. If you both dont mind living in the suburbs, the western surburbs are a good compromise as well. There are also lovely villages like Monymusk and Insch (theres a train from Insch to Aberdeen).

  • Hi, there has been a slight change of plan, my boyfriend got offered a job starting very soon so we had to get somewhere quick so we have ended up in Inverurie, we move in 2 weeks. We looked at Insch which looked nice but we found a cracker in Inverurie so have ended up taking that. Thanks for your advice. I think my journey will be ok but for my boyfriend he will have to get the train to Aberdeen then a bus out to Tullos ind estate!
