As part of Zoopla's 2016 Rich List, we rounded up the top 10 towns in Britain which boast the highest number of streets on which average property values sit at £1m or more.  

If you want to give yourself a fighting chance of living at one of Britain's most sought-after addresses, the first thing you'll need is at least £1m.

Already in the bag? Next, you'll want the widest choice of streets where average property values fetch that sum or more. So where should you be heading?

The obvious answer is London where, according to our 2016 Rich List research, a whopping 5,441 streets meet that criteria.

But what about outside of the capital? Here are the top 10 postal towns to head for...

1. GUILDFORD, SURREY

Number of £1m-plus streets: 184

Proportion of overall town: 16.2%

Average property value: £559,413

Value change in last five years:  £111,443 (or 24.8%)

2. READING, BERKSHIRE

Proportion of overall town: 4.7%

Average property value: £403,653

Value change in last five years: £91,661 (or 29.4%)

3. LEATHERHEAD, SURREY
