About Force & Sons

Force and Sons is an independent family run Estate and Letting Agency which has been in existence since 1790 making it one of the oldest family businesses in the country. The founder was John Force, a builder and auctioneer who had premises in Cathedral Yard, Exeter. In 1820 he moved with his son Charles to Sidwell Street, Exeter, only yards from the current Head Office. It was at this time the firm expanded into Estate Agency. 8 generations later and Force and Sons have three offices, having expanded into Dawlish in 1982 and Teignmouth in 2001. It is now a thriving residential and commercial practice with an expanding lettings and property management department. There has been a continuous family involvement in the firm throughout its history and is currently run by Arthur Force in partnership with his two sons David and Stephen. The partners and staff pride themselves on providing a friendly and professional service, backed by many years' of experience and the commitment that you will only ever find from a truly independent firm.
