Property description
You would not recognise the home compared to when the current owners moved in over 24 years ago. With a lot of tender love and care they have created something truly unique while keeping the things that are special with brick built fire places, wooden beams, even down to the thatching of the garage roof. The theme runs from inside to out, when you close the double gates you could be anywhere in the world with a secluded garden which has two patio areas and plenty of lawned space. One of the patios comes straight off the kitchen, which makes a great alfresco dining area in the summer.
The picturesque village of Chestfield has plenty to offer too, with some glorious walks through Clowes Woods and the country side, play parks, the 14th Century Barn which offers some lovely food and drink and the golf course.
What the Owner says:We have always loved Chestfield and had driven past this house on numerous occasions, and in all honesty when we saw it go on the market we nearly dismissed it. But the moment the gates closed behind us we just knew it was the one. The trees wrapping around the garden give it a lovely feel and youre not overlooked.
It needed a lot of work at the time and we made sure that we took our time in restoring it and keeping all its character, while adding some modern touches. Since 1988 we havent looked back and have collected some wonderful memories here. On a functional level it is brilliant to be so close the train station, bus routes, supermarkets and the doctors surgery.
