Rocklea is situated on the fringes of the village of Askerswell in a rural, yet accessible location. The whole area is much sought after and lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the West Dorset countryside. The house and village are surrounded by rolling countryside, Eggardon Hill, iron-age hillfort, provides an iconic viewpoint nearby. Askerswell has a village hall, church and a welcoming public house. There is a well regarded primary school at the nearby village of Loders. The vibrant town of Bridport lies approximately three miles to the west. There is access to the Jurassic Coast at the pretty harbour of West Bay and there are a number of excellent beaches and inlets throughout the area. Outside


Rocklea is approached from the lane via an open gateway to a gravel parking and turning area with space for a number of vehicles. To one side of this lies the double garage with light and power connected, two remote control roller shutter doors and the annexe above. Adjacent to the garage is a pedestrian gate which leads through to the rear garden where there is a paved sun terrace perfect for al fresco dining and a plumbed in hot tub (available by separate negotiation). A door leads from this area to the apartment above the garage. The paved sun terrace runs along the rear of the property, beyond which lies a bank with a rock garden planted with mature shrubs and flowers. At the top of the bank is an enclosed area with what is currently a chicken and goose run and a vegetable garden. On the opposite side of the house is a large sweeping level lawn.
