Gas Lamp Cottage is an attached 2 bedroom cottage that we believe has origins in the 17th century and was once the local bakery and/or smokehouse. Period features include original wooden beams, a circular stone former smokehouse, now the dining nook and a large walk-in bread oven on either side of a large central fireplace and chimney. A solid timber stable door leads from the cottage garden at the front into the main reception room, with a further timber door to the kitchen, a metal spiral staircase up to the first floor accommodation and two arches into the dining nook and the 'computer room'. The dining room, fashioned from a former smokehouse, has high leaded windows over the front and side of the property, space for a round table and has been fitted with a semi-circular bench, creating the perfect cosy dining area. The computer room is fashioned from a former walk-in bread oven with space for a bar stool, a computer and some stationery storage. The sitting room has period wood beams and a large central stone fireplace and hearth with an inset Dean Forge wood burner. Several windows and a timber door lead into the kitchen which is fitted with modern base and wall units and a breakfast bar with rolled edge wood effect surfaces, a stainless steel sink-and-a-half unit with chrome mixer tap over, space and plumbing for washing machine and under counter freezer and has a 4-burner electric hob with electric oven under.
The utility room has a timber door out to the back garden, windows over the back and side, the gas boiler and space and electrics for further appliances. Up the cast iron spiral staircase, the landing has doors to the two bedrooms and the family bathroom, which is fitted with a pedestal wash hand basin, a panelled bath with electric Mira Sport shower over, WC and multi-paned windows overlooking the charming rear garden. Bedroom 1 stretches from the front to the back of the house and has two built-in wardrobes, period style exposed woodwork and a multi-paned window overlooking the front of the property, as is found in Bedroom 2, as well.

The front of the property is accessed through a small timber gate into a charming cobbled cottage garden with raised beds, well stocked with herbs, specimen shrubs and flowering plants. The rear garden is accessed via the parking area through large, double wooden gates onto a level decked area that runs the full width of the property. The garden is laid out in three distinct levels; the lowest lawned area being the former drive to the single garage at the back of the property; a raised lawn with stone walled borders, burgeoning with specimen flowers and shrubs and a further terraced area with the vegetable and soft fruit patch, a large pond and water feature and further bountiful flower beds and borders.
