Description
Originally built in 1950, to a design by the architect C Talbot-Larrington, Chercombe House epitomises the design of the era with clean lines, shallow pitched roofs and large windows overlooking the surrounding gardens and woodland. The mid-20th Century design continues inside, with spacious, useful rooms accented in Mansonia wood floors, skirting boards and doorways. From Plymouth, take the A38 northbound to the Goodstone exit on the A383/Ashburton Road, signed to Newton Abbot. Proceed for 3 ¼ miles, taking a right turn at Chercombe Bridge Road, opposite the Mile End Garage. Take the first left to stay on Chercombe Bridge Road and proceed for ¾ of a mile where Chercombe House is on the left. From Exeter, follow the A38 southbound to the Linhay exit at Ashburton.
