Location


Located in the small hamlet of Kentisbury Ford Kentisbury House is well placed for access to local facilities. The Exmoor National Park is nearby and the local village has a shop, village hall, popular Primary School and a thriving Women's Institute. There is also a local garage and a daily bus service to Barnstaple, the regional centre for North Devon. The North Devon coast at Combe Martin is about 5 miles away and the glorious sand surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Putbourough, Croyde Bay and Saunton are within easy motoring distance. The wonderful remote areas of high Exmoor are also readily accessible and are a haven for walkers as is the South West Coast Path. The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, linked by their famed cliff railway are within easy motoring distance.

Barnstaple is about 10 miles away, via the A39, and is the regional centre for North Devon. The busy town centre offers excellent facilities and is a pleasing blend of the usual high street multiples and a number of local traders. There is a thriving local theatre, 4 screen cinema and excellent sports and tennis facilities. Sailing is available on the coastal waters and Instow on the banks of the River Torridge, between Barnstaple and Bideford, is home to the North Devon Yacht Club. For golfers there are a number of clubs including Ilfracombe and Saunton with its 2 Championship Links Courses.

At Barnstaple and South Molton access can be gained to the North Devon Link Road A361) which provides a fast route to the M5 motorway at junction 27 (Tiverton). This is about 34 miles from Barnstaple and is also home to the Tiverton Parkway main line railway station (London Paddington 2 ? Approx). Exeter the County Town and Cathedral City with its international airport is about 50 miles away.
