History
Built just after the First World War as craft workshops, where convalescing soldiers could learn new skills, this light-filled building became known locally as The Glass Barn on account of the large expanses of glass to the east and west elevations, and indeed floor to ceiling glazing forms a major part of the proposed conversion. Later, as the building took on a more agricultural role, the windows were filled in, although the original openings can still be seen internally.

The beautiful North Norfolk Coast is approximately 30 minutes by car.

The Parish of Crostwick with its 15th Century Church of St Peter’s is set back behind the common. The most visible habitations are the White Horse Pub and The Old Rectory Country House Hotel.

The nearby village of Frettenham has a primary school, The Rose & Crown Pub, Nortons Farm Shop and a village hall.

The riverside village of Coltishall is less than 2 miles away with pretty riverside pubs and traditional buildings housing local shops and businesses including a post office, doctors surgery, Londis supermarket, pharmacy, fish & chip shop and a fruit & veg shop.

The popular destination of Wroxham, known as ‘the capital of the Norfolk Broads’ is approx. 5 miles away boasting a secondary school, hotels, restaurants, pubs, shops and a large department store with supermarket. Boat hire and river cruises are widely available as the villages of Wroxham and Hoveton are centred on the river Bure. It also has a train station with easy links to Norwich, Cromer and Sheringham.

Norwich is just over 8 miles (20 minutes by car) along the B1150 and provides a wider variety of shopping, commercial and leisure facilities; these include a full range of sports clubs and societies, restaurants and high street stores. The most convenient hospital is the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

The nearest schools are Frettenham Primary and Broadland High School at Hoveton. There is an excellent selection of independent schools in Norwich including Taverham Hall Prep, Town Close House Prep, The Norwich School, Norwich School for Girls, Langley School. Beeston Hall Prep and Greshams can be found to the north.

Norwich (via the B1150), London (via A47/All/M11) and the midlands (via A47/A14) are all easily accessible. Train links are available from Hoveton/Wroxham to Norwich and then London and to the North Norfolk Coast. Norwich Airport is 6.5 miles away and London Stansted Airport is accessible via rail or by car.

 

Directions
From Norwich take the B1150 North Walsham Road. On reaching Crostwick turn left into Hall Lane. After 1/2 mile bear right into Stanninghall Road. The entrance to the barns can be found on the left, marked with a Barn Masters for sale board.
