Located on the immaculate  and peaceful Trevalgas farm holiday complex on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Poughill which is about a mile from the popular north Cornish coastal resort town of Bude.  Bude offers a comprehensive range of shopping, business and leisure facilities including leisure pool, all weather floodlit tennis courts, bowling alley and an 18 hole golf course.  The town also has a good choice of restaurants, public houses and some breathtaking walks across the downs.  There is direct access onto the A39 ‘Atlantic Highway’ which provides excellent access north to the towns of Bideford and Barnstaple and south further on down into Cornwall.
 
There are several sandy beaches in the local area from large open stretches of golden sand to small hidden coves only accessed on foot. There are several cycle trails nearby, two local golf courses, tennis courts, sailing and fishing are all available year round.  For historians, the Battle of Stamford Hill  site is within a short walk. There are historic houses and gardens open to the public, art galleries, craft centres and work shops all within a short drive. The canal side area in Bude hosts a wealth of activities, and Bude Castle houses a local heritage centre.

Directions


From Bude proceed along Belle Vue and at the top of the hill follow the road down into Golf House Road.  Continue into Flexbury and straight on into Poughill Road where you continue into the village of Poughill.  Proceed straight on through the village until you come to the Cross roads (Inch’s shop).  Here go straight across and after a short distance you will see the entrance to Trevalgas Farm on your right hand side.  Proceed into the complex following the concrete drive, bear right around the swimming pool and continue straight on to the top parking area where Groom Cottage will be found in front of you with the parking space to the left of the cottge.
