What is shared ownership?
In partnership with Jephson Housing you can part buy and part rent your new home.
You can apply if you are a buyer with a household income of less than £60, 000 a year and do not have a recent adverse credit history.
You must also have funds to pay for a deposit (5% minimum) and fees normally associated with purchasing a property (eg, legal fees, removals, Stamp Duty if applicable etc).
You must not currently own another property.
For 3 and 4 bedroom properties the buyer must have a genuine need for more than 2 bedrooms (ie children, work from home etc).

If you qualify for Shared Ownership, you pay for 50% (ie £140, 000) with a mortgage and deposit as usual, and then you pay a small rent for the remaining 50% (for example £320.83/month). There is also a service and management fee payable every month.

It may also be the case that you can afford to purchase more or less than a 50% share, and this will be determined during the application process.
