Dulcote is a small hamlet situated just to the south east of Wells and many of the Bed and Breakfast guests walk into the city via a picturesque footpath. This historic city is well known for its architectural appeal with the main landmark being the stunning 12th century Cathedral. Wells boasts an enviable range of amenities and facilities including various supermarkets (that will shortly include Waitrose), independent and national retailers and a wide selection of coffee shops/restaurants. There is also a twice weekly Market, excellent primary and secondary schooling (both state and private). Wells is also a short distance from Glastonbury with its famous Tor and home to various festivals throughout the year. Shepton Mallet is also a short drive with the Bath & West Showground just outside the town. In terms of commuting, Castle Cary is a relatively short drive with the train station having a direct service to London, Paddington. There are good road links to both Bristol and Bath and also the A303 to the South.
