Jasmine Cottage is well located about 3 miles south of Barnstaple at Stoneylands, between the town centre and Newton Tracey. Within east motoring distance is the North Devon Link Road (A361) on the south side of Barnstaple, where there is also the district centre with Sainsburys supermarket. Barnstaple Town Centre is a little further and is a bustling market town. The centre is home to a thriving theatre with a wide variety of multiple traders and more local stores. There is also the restored Pannier Market and the adjoining Butchers Row. There are excellent leisure facilities including cinema, sports and leisure centre etc. Within easy motoring distance to the west are the glorious sandy surfing beaches at Saunton, Croyde Bay, Putsborough and Woolacombe and sailing is available on the coastal waters with Instow on the banks of the River Torridge being home to the North Devon Yacht Club. For golfers there are a veriety of courses but most notably the 2 Championship Links courses at Saunton.
The North Devon Link Road (A361) accessed at Roundswell provides a fast route to the M5 motorway at Tiverton (junction 27) about 34 miles away. There also is Tiverton Parkway main line railway station (London Paddington 2 hour's approx.) Exeter the county town and Cathedral City with its international airport is about 45 miles away.
