Commutable to Newcastle which is 49 miles away, Berwick 16 miles and Alnwick 15 miles. The location is rural enough to feel you are taking time away from the crowd but accessible to the larger towns and cities should you wish to venture further.

Belford Hall is a striking Grade 1 listed mansion designed by James Paine and constructed in 1756. The elegant wings were added in 1810. The Hall fell into disrepair after the Second World War before being sympathetically restored and converted by the North of England Civic Trust and the Monument Trust in the 1980’s into 16 self-contained flats and houses.

Dobson House is set in the west wing of Belford Hall and enjoys magnificent views over the parkland and the surrounding countryside. Although part of the Hall, this home has its own private entrance with a separate garage nearby. The surrounding parkland is owned by the lessees of Belford Hall. The share allocated to Dobson House is included in the sale.

What’s outside Dobson House?

Management details:

The maintenance and running of the Hall, (upkeep and structure) together with the grounds, driveway and common areas are maintained by the Belford Hall Management Company Limited. The company is jointly owned by Belford Hall’s leaseholders. The current annual service charge is approx £2,800.00 which also covers buildings insurance and window cleaning. The use of the property as a commercial holiday let is not permitted both under the terms of the lease and by the Management Company. This ensures the fabric of the building and common areas are maintained to the current high standard one would expect in a listed building of this calibre.

Further afield but not too far away, set out on a walk to St Cuthbert's cave, just a few miles from Belford. The highlight of this walk is the cave itself where Lindisfarne monks reputedly brought St Cuthberts body in ad 875 following Viking raids on Holy Island. Grab your wellies and flask, head to nearby Waren Mill and the stunning beach at Budle Bay to watch thousands of waders and wildfowl on the tidal lagoon.
