i've lived in London all my life and genuinely find Gunton Rd the friendliest street i've lived on. Many of the families have lived here for over 40 years and there's a really warm and friendly feeling. Also when we moved in, we couldn't believe how quiet it was! It's a really peaceful street.


Clapton overground station is a 2 minute walk away at the end of the road with regular trains taking exactly ten minutes to get into Liverpool street. There are plenty of buses connecting you to the rest of Hackney, Stoke Newington and further into central London. There is plenty of free street parking on Gunton Road.

Green spaces

Literally at the end of Gunton Rd is Millfields Park with its recently redone playground, and the River Lea. From there you can go on wonderful walks along the river to nearby Springfield Park, Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes, and The Olympic Park.

Going out

Clapton has changed a lot over the last few years with many old pubs getting revamped and new restaurants appearing all the time. 5 minute walk away is a lovely local, The Crooked Billet, with a large garden and good food. The Clapton Hart is a 10 minute walk, a great sourdough pizza place, Sodo, is round the corner... It's also a 5 minute bus journey or 10 minute walk to Stoke Newington which has many bars, restaurants and cafes.


There are many good primary schools nearby and two outstanding secondaries.
