“One of the many things I love about the house is the fact that it’s so wonderfully light and bright throughout, and that in turn enhances the feeling of space. We have a huge kitchen, dining and living area which has windows across two complete walls, so the natural light floods in, and the enormous sitting room – which is so large I have five settees in it – has patio doors on one side and floor-to-ceiling windows on the other, so again the sunlight streams in.”

“The many windows not only bring light into the house but they also create a really wonderful connection between the house and beautiful garden, which is another gorgeous feature of the property, ” continues the owner. “When my husband purchased the land it was part of an old quarry, so the house sits in an elevated position and the garden drops down to the paddock and the tennis court; the views are magnificent. And just outside the kitchen and the sitting room there is a patio terrace and an area of decking, which throughout the summer are bathed in sunshine, so it’s a great space for family BBQs, entertaining or just sitting and soaking in the surroundings. It’s all just so beautiful.”

“The huge kitchen/diner is the real hub of our home, ” says the owner. “It’s a room in which we can cook, eat, relax and entertain, and because the two walls are almost completely glazed we can enjoy the most spectacular panoramic view of the garden and grounds.”

“The house is set well back from a quiet road and approached via a long, sweeping driveway, so it’s totally secluded, ” says the owner. “But if I need anything Chippenham is 6.4 miles away and the centre of Bath is 7.3 miles away. Box is a really gorgeous village. There's an outstanding primary school, cricket club, bowling club, yoga classes, tennis courts, playground, recreation ground, as well as lovely river and countryside walks. The village also has lots of useful shops including a butchers, Co-op, cafe, post office, newsagent, two hairdressers, an Indian restaurant and three pubs. “

“In 2014 we had the house completely refurbished, ” says the owner, “so it’s absolutely immaculate throughout and ready for another family to move in and just enjoy it.”

“i’ve decided to downsize, but i’ll miss absolutely everything about this house when the time comes to leave, ” says the owner. “I just love it. The house is gorgeous, the garden is fabulous and the location allows you to enjoy the very best of both worlds. It’s a wonderful family home that has been loved, cherished and really well looked after.”
