The Property
St Helen’s House is an attractive double-fronted period farmhouse, situated in a highly desirable position a short distance from the centre of Corbridge. The property retains a host of charm and character, expected of such a property, and has the addition of modern comforts such as refurbished kitchen and bathrooms. In addition to the house is a useful separate annexe/studio which is excellent guest accommodation, an ideal place to work from home, or to run a business. There is also the benefit of established gardens with large greenhouse, private parking and large garage.

The front door leads into a storm porch and then into the entrance hall. To the front of the property are two excellent reception rooms with fireplaces and sash windows providing views to the west, with the dining room benefitting from an inglenook fireplace. To the rear of the house is a fantastic kitchen/breakfast room, with dining space enjoying views over the garden. The bespoke fitted kitchen, by Alexander Carrick, offers a range of hand-painted and oak units under granite surfaces with oak breakfast bar, integrated fridge, dishwasher and Redfyre Aga-style range cooker. Off the kitchen is a useful pantry, and rear porch leading to the utility room with modern gloss units, granite surfaces, butler’s sink and space for washing machine, then onto the tasteful cloakroom/WC.

The first floor accommodation comprises four double bedrooms, with the master having a modern shower room with heated floor. The family bathroom contains a modern suite with ‘P’ bath with shower over, complemented by tasteful tiling. There is a study with space for desk and shelving, overlooking the rear garden.

The detached annexe/studio is situated across the courtyard with easy access to the house but extremely private. An open plan and spacious room contains a modern kitchen with units and cooking facilities, and a sitting and dining area, and space for sofa-bed. There is a bedroom area with shower room. This excellent space is perfect for guest accommodation or would make a wonderful place to work from home, particularly for a private place for clients to attend, such as treatment room or salon. Alternatively it could provide space for a private gym.

Externally
St Helen’s House has access from Aydon Road onto a private driveway which has planning permission to increase the width of the entrance, should this be required. There is a large detached garage which is of modern construction and provides car parking and excellent dry storage. Additional garden storage is provided in a garden shed which adjoins the annexe/studio.

There is a gate to the pretty front garden which is stone flagged and leads to the front door. The enclosed rear garden is private and well established with terraced areas, variety of plants and shrubs. There is also a large greenhouse and a pond with a pumped waterfall feature. The different areas in the garden are designed to enjoy the sunlight at different times of day.
