There’s plenty to keep you busy in the local area with the historic house and gardens of Great Dixter within the village. You can also take a ride on a steam train from Northiam to Tenterden or Bodiam and take in the stunning Rother Valley scenery. Or if you prefer a slower pace, pleasure-boats meander along the River Rother from Newenden to Bodiam where you can explore its impressive 14th century moated castle.
