Llanelli hosts a wide range of sport teams, the towns rugby union teams are the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC, the town also has a strong junior rugby team. There is a football team Llanelli A.F.C and the town has a bowls team. Llanelli has three golf courses; these include Machynys Peninsula Golf & Country Club, Machynys Peninsula Golf & Country Club.
