The village of Cranfield dates back to Saxon times and lies between Bedford (approximately 10 miles) to the east and Milton Keynes (approximately 7 miles) to the west. It is just off the M1 motorway between junctions 13 and 14 - approximately 50 miles north of London.

Cranfield is probably most famous for its RAF connections and airfield which later became Cranfield Institute of Technology but is now known as Cranfield University. Along with the university, there are two well-respected schools in the village, the Lower School and Holywell Middle School. Older children can travel approximately 4 miles by bus to Wootton Upper School.

The village benefits from a number of local stores including a Co-op supermarket, newsagents, hairdressers and public houses. For a greater range of shopping facilities, Milton Keynes and Bedford are just a short drive away and offer all the major high street stores along with restaurants, theatres, cinemas and nightlife.

Lots to do in the local area

Local places of interest include Marston Thrift (within walking distance), which is now part of Marston Vale Community Forest, a nature reserve where an abundance of wildlife and plants can be seen. A little further afield lies Woburn Abbey & Safari Park, Ascott House & Gardens, and Center Parcs Woburn Forest.

Transport

Home Farm benefits from excellent road links, with junction 14 of the M1 just 4 miles away. Mainline train stations run from Milton Keynes and Bedford, with journey time to London being approximately 50 minutes.

There is both a doctors and dentist surgery in the village.

Directions

From M1 jct 14 take the A509 towards Newport Pagnell. Take the first right to Moulsoe.

Stay on this road following signs to Cranfield, past the university. Take a left at the T junction the first right into Lodge Road.
