Main villa

The foundations of the new part of the villa (built in 2003) have deliberately been designed to take the weight of a second floor should it be required. Due to the Urban classification of the land, this is very likely to be permissible subject to a standard planning application.

The entire property has Moorish/Andalucian styling – keeping with the traditional but complemented by modern conveniences.

The old, two storey part of the property was completely renovated at the same time as the new part was built and both parts of the villa have been completed to the same high standard. The styling and finish is so good in each part of the property, it is difficult to tell where the old finishes and the new starts.

Electric entrance gates glide open and transport you from the quaint village with tiny roads more suited to mules than cars, onto the property where you immediately get the feeling of open countryside and an oasis of pretty gardens with the turquoise water of the pool in the centre.

The grand living room is accessed via double doors from the entrance hall. It is a light filled room with Andalucian style vaulted ceiling with arched tiling and beams. The room is 9M x 6M with a feature fireplace and surrounded by windows on 3 sides plus glazed French doors out onto the front porch and pool terace. This room makes a statement but at the same time has a homely feel.

Formal dining room is accessed via steps down from the entrance hall and this room features antique Andalucian floor tiles and a feature fireplace in the corner (el rincón). This room could equally make a wonderful day room/home office with soft seating or a cosy Snug/TV room.

Spacious kitchen/diner – accessed via several steps down from the formal dining room. A good size room with large dining table and under-stairs storage cupboard at one end (with a glazed door to outside) then one step down (split-level kitchen/diner) takes you to the fully fitted kitchen with base and wall units. The work tops and back splash are an amazing electric blue with quarts that sparkles. The units are a pale yellow and the range cooker is electric/gas by Smeg with an extractor hob above.

First floor

Stairs rise from the mini half-landing between the formal dining room and kitchen and lead to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Bedroom 1 (with en-suite): The master bedroom is a light and bright room with ample space for ‘his and her’s wardrobes and a dressing table area. The master benefits from an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, vanity unit and w.C. This bedroom also enjoys views over the pool, gardens and mountain ranges. A glazed door leads out onto a small balcony area with stairs down to the pool terrace.

Television – currently the English owners watch Spanish TV but once connected to the internet, international television could be streamed via the internet.

Outside

Pool & pool terrace: The large pool (9M x 5M) is surrounded by a terrace for lounging and relaxing. Conveniently located under the stairs from the master bedroom is a poolside w.C. With hand basin. Also on the pool terrace is a pergola covering a large alfresco dining table and chairs. The terrace extends a long way and includes a central island with planting of yukkas and flowers.

Fountain garden: Outside the window of the large living room is the fountain garden, separated from the pool terrace by pillars. This part of the garden is a riot of colour from flowers.

Orchard: Raised up from the pool terrace and retained by a wall is the orchard. Here there are all manner of trees to include table oranges and Seville oranges, lemons, figs and olives. There are also many yukkas and shrubs. In the past, this area of the garden has also been used as a kitchen garden for growing vegetables and herbs etc. Chickens would also be very at home here!
