Instant house price search
Computer Active Magazine, 17th April 2008
A new website claims to give the lowdown on any house, in any street in any UK neighbourhood. Zoopla! can provide free, instant value estimates on more than 26 million homes with data taken from the Royal Mail and Land Registry, which in the current economic climate could prove useful. According to a survey carried out by the site's developers, about a quarter of homebuyers take undue risks on their house purchase because they don't carry out comparative research on the current value of homes before putting in an offer. In addition, seven in 10 homebuyers admit they do not check a property's previous sale price before signing the title deeds. In fact, buyers spend more time checking out the price of kitchen items. Zoopla! also has a number of interactive features such as the TemptMe! section, which allows owners to enter the dream figure they'd like to sell their home for.
