Situation & amenities:
Atlantic View Bungalows occupy a superb situation perched above the beach at Widemouth Bay with stunning views over the sea and along the coastline. One of North Cornwall's most popular holiday locations, Widemouth Bay is well-known for its surfing, drawing visitors to the area out of peak season and the mile long sandy beach is life guarded in the summer months. The property is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and adjoins the South West Coast Path, which stretched 613 miles around the south west peninsula. The well-known coastal resort of Bude lies less than 4 miles to the north providing a range of small shops, together with supermarkets, banks, restaurants, indoor leisure facilities, golf, tennis and bowls and there are level walks along the Bude Canal. The Bude-Boscastle bus service passes the property. The property is an ideal touring base with the nearby A39 Atlantic Highway linking many of the West Country's most frequented holiday destinations, from the Hartland Peninsula in the north to Tintangel, Padstow and St Ives in the south. The A30 is accessible at Okehampton about 33 miles away and links directly with the M5 at Exeter. There are regional airports at Newquay, Exeter and Plymouth.
Description:
The property has an interesting history largely associated with the holiday industry, dating back to about 1910. In the 1920s it functioned as tea rooms and in the 1950s as a hotel and restaurant. Comprising six linked bungalows, Atlantic View Bungalows has in recent years operated as a popular self-catering holiday complex with a high level of repeat business. Five of the well-furnished and equipped bungalows, all having sea and coastal views, have been let with the sixth ('Turnstone') providing owners accommodation. However, each bungalow has full residential planning permission enabling them all to be occupied without restriction.
Accommodation:
The bungalows are of solid construction under a slated roof with UPVC double glazed windows and electric heating. They are well-furnished and equipped for holiday lettings (except Turnstone).
