Property description
Bounds Green is a stunningly pretty semi - detached period cottage, offering excellent accommodation which is both flexible and spacious. The property is a quintessential rose clad Sussex cottage, with lovely timbered elevations to the front. In contrast the rear elevation, which is also very attractive, has a mixture of stone and brick elevations under a clay tile roof. Part of the property was originally a barn and it is believed to date back to the 1750's. The accommodation has been tastefully restored and combines character with modern fittings. Examples of its character include exposed internal timbers, very pretty fireplaces and timber flooring. There are bedrooms on both the ground and first floor. The property has been run as a successful bed and breakfast business and there is huge potential to expand this further. The accommodation is surprisingly large and will suit a family or professional/retired couple. It would also be ideal as a weekend retreat.
Situation
Bounds Green is situated just to the south of the idyllic market town of Midhurst in the small hamlet of Cocking Causeway. There are lots of rural walks in the immediate vicinity and it lies in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Midhurst is famous for its association with the Cowdray Estate, which hosts international polo and includes the lovely Cowdray Ruins and cricket ground. There are numerous sporting activities in the area, from horse racing and golf at Goodwood, which also hosts the world famous motor sports events, to fly fishing and county cricket, which is played at Arundel. The beautiful south coast is only about 1/2 hour's drive away, offering some of the best beaches in the south. Midhurst has a selection of pretty shops and restaurants and there is more extensive shopping to be found in both Chichester to the south and Guildford to the north. There is a mainline station to London Waterloo in Haslemere, about 9 miles to the north.
