Buy to let prospects 'very good' in Manchester
7th Sep 2012
The rental market in the north-west of England is "very healthy" at the moment, according to one expert who has highlighted that buy to let prospects in the region are excellent.
Property expert Julie Twist said that conditions have gradually been improving since the start of the year, when stock was very short and almost "down to the bare bones", while rents were increasing.
After that, significant amount of stock came back on the market, as is traditional around June and July, and now there are "an awful lot of people moving in" around the Manchester area.
"It is a great rental market, to be honest," Ms Twist said, pointing out that all the signs are pointing in the right direction for landlords looking to boost their portfolio.
"I have found quite a few more people are buying to rent out or are buying for students who are studying in Manchester so that they can share accommodation with friends and things like that. A few people are starting to consider it again," she explained.
Ms Twist said that as far as the market is concerned, asking prices are on the sales side, while the returns on rentals are impressive, so it is all looking good for the landlords.
