The 2 person flats comprise of two bedrooms with a bathroom and kitchen and store cupboard in the hallway for those bits that don't quite fit into your room!

Room

Each bedroom comes equipped with a desk, chair, wardrobe, set of drawers, bedside cabinet 3/4 bed, mattress cover, and a bin. Both bedrooms also benefit from a free 10 Mb internet connection and iptv (tv on your laptop or pc through the internet) and an internal phone which can be used to contact Security, the Accommodation Team or anyone else that lives at Hamstead Campus free of charge.

Kitchen

The kitchen comes equipped with a fridge freezer, microwave, electric hob and oven, kettle, hoover, iron and ironing board.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a shower, bath, toilet and basin.

Utilities

All room prices at Hamstead Campus include all utilities including heating, hot water, electricity and 10mb high speed internet.

The Area

Hamstead Campus is located in the Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham just 3 miles from the city centre. A few minutes’ walk along College Road takes you to local facilities including a Tesco Express, Co op, butchers, Post Office, bakery and leisure centre. Also nearby is Handsworth Park, a 63 acre park with a lake, cricket pitch and a second, larger leisure centre with swimming pool.

The Village Inn

Hamcam has its own pub! The Village Inn is run by our own team and is available only to the residents of Hamstead Campus and their guests. It is fully licenced, has Sky TV and serves hot food. We run regular special offers and promotional nights.

A free to use atm machine is available in the Village Inn.

Convenience shop

The Village Stores is open 7 days a week during term time and sells all the essentials so you can collect fresh bread and milk for breakfast without even having to leave the campus. We also sell Hamcam hoodies to wear with pride!

TV room

A television room is available for residents to enjoy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With a 50" screen and plenty of comfy sofa space we're sure you'll agree it's a great place to relax when you're not partying or studying.

Common room

The huge 19th Century common room located within the central area of Hamstead Hall is a great space for many things. Bookable 48 hours in advance for private use it is a great place for fund raising events or large study groups. It is also available at any other time for general use, perhaps you need more space for course work or want to chill out somewhere without the TV on, whatever you want to do the common room is available for you all day every day. The room also includes a wifi hotspot.

Study areas

Two study areas are provided to allow our residents some quiet space to work away from their rooms.

Sports Pitch

We have a floodlit multi-use sports pitch is available to residents free of charge. We run a 5 a side football league 2 nights a week - a great way to meet new friends, have fun and enjoy some exercise.

Sports Hall

The sports hall is located at the end of Hamstead Hall's north wing. The sports hall is marked out with a badminton court. It is free to use for all residents of Hamstead Campus, it's a great way to keep fit, for free! Simply sign out a key for access.

Gym

We have a private gym for our student residents, located in Hamstead Hall. The gym is free to use for all Hamcam residents.

Security

Hamstead Campus is a secure, gated campus with 24/7 security 52 weeks a year. We have a regular team of security guards who are on hand 24 hours a day. The two entrances to the campus are manned by our guards as is our security reception desk in the Hall. When the Accommodation Office is closed our security team is here to help with any queries.

Insurance

Hamstead Campus in partnership with Endsleigh Insurance provide contents insurance for up to £4, 000 for items kept in your room at Hamcam. This insurance provides reassurance for all of our residents and for those wanting to be extra sure, there is an option to extend the policy to include accidental damage cover.

Parking

There is plenty of parking available for campus residents. These are provided on a first come, first served basis and we recommend that they are requested on booking in order to avoid disappointment.

Cycle storage is also provided on site for students wishing to bring a bike to campus. A £5 deposit is payable for a key to the bike store. This is refundable when you return your key.

Launderette

There is a coin operated launderette located to the rear of Hamstead Hall available for the use of all students at Hamstead Campus. A wash and a dry each cost just £1.
