Is it a safe area? What are the local amenities like?

  • Basildon is quite big so I would say for being safe it depends where abouts! To be honest I wouldn't like to live in most places as I am a young girl on her own. Some places are fine but there is quite alot of crime around. I have lived in Laindon mostly which is the same. There are some parts that are great and others that are awful! There's quite alot to do, there's a big town centre, swimming pool, gyms, cinema, night clubs loads of take a ways and restuarants.

  • We would suggest that you check out the local Tourism website & check the crime rates for the area. Do some research on the internet – it’s worth calling a few of the agents too to get some advice. Spend some time in the area that you are interested in too – try to get a feel for the place. Good Luck!

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.

  • Pitsea is not safe to walk around after dark on the estates as itself alleyways and lighting is bad. The local amenities are there if your rich enough to pay their sky high prices. Parking is bad most of the times as there's too many cars but not enough spaces to park. My own view of Pitsea is it's more of a over spill from London as a lot of the people that live there are originally from London.
