House converted to flats has boiler?

Hello, Supposing I buy a flat in a house which has been converted to flats. Am I guaranteed to have access to my own boiler and water tank? When I lived in Brighton, the man upstairs from me had bought his flat, but if he wanted access to his water tank, he had to knock on the door of the tenant who rented the room above him, since that's where his water tank was. He had to beg that tenant for access to his water tank.

  • Hi eem2am, If you are looking at this sort of thing, it can be best to get a hold of the title deeds for the property before you buy. These will have had to have been changed when the flat was converted from a house, so you will be able to see if any changes like this have been noted. Alternatively, you could simply ask the agent. They should be pretty forthcoming with issues like this if they are looking to find a buyer for their property - which is their main goal at the end of the day. Many thanks, Scott
