How do I know the equity on my property?

  • Calculate the value of your property, then take away any outstanding mortgage you might owe on the property, and any other loans secured against the property, then any balance left is your equity. E.G house value £200,000 less a mortgage of say £150.000, your equity is therefore £50,000.
