Finding out the exact age of your property will depend first and foremost on how it was sold in the first place. If your home was originally bought directly from the developer who built it, then the Land Registry will hold details of the first date when the lease was transferred from the developer. If not, however, the Land Registry will not hold the details - they deal with the ownership of land and not what is built on it.
For newer style properties, there are a number of different tactics you might look at employing. These will include the likes of asking the estate agent who sold it to you. In some cases, the sellers' property information sheet may have these details on it. Again, if this is not the case, you can try other tactics such as looking to the council for when planning permission was first granted for building on the land, or your mortgage survey might also have the details (if you already own the home).
For very old properties, your only real options might take quite a bit of digging in the library records or parish council records for your town. You can also try checking things like the census records at ten year intervals going back.
