If a house is leasehold on purchase from new build how do you remove it from leasehold to freehold

  • Well you could purchase the freehold. However if a new built property is leasehold it is probably for a good reason. Usually that is because there are shared facilities or common parts such as access ways, parking, gardens etc which require contributions to their maintenance from all owners.

  • I think you can buy the freehold after you have lived there for 3-years,
