  • Hi, it's not a case of having an affect on the value of the property. You have got to be very mindful and careful when having solar panels installed as some companies will have a lease on the solar panels for 25 years and as they have a charge on your property it is extremely difficult to sell your property with is lease in place.

  • You cannot compare 'rent a roof' with panels owned and transferable with the property. The value will depend on many factors such as installation date, the energy they produce and the quality and appearance of the installation. On the basis of the income being index linked and tax free for up to 25 years this should clearly add value if this information is understood & conveyed to prospective purchasers. In addition to all this, energy bills will be lower.
