Would you consider using an online estate agent?

I think we would try an online estate agent in the future. We have come across good and bad estate agents on the high street, I don't think it would be any different online. I would imagine there are some very good online estate agents, just as there are high street agents.

Buying or selling a property is for many people the single most important transaction they undertake. Statistically speaking, some 90% or more of purchasers look for property on-line so there is no doubt that the web is now far more effective than the high street. Here at Harrod Property we take the marketing and research power of the internet and combine it with a face-to-face personal service based on the North American/Canadian Realtor model. By doing so our clients get the best possible service at highly competitive, market beating fees.

No - faceless entities with no local market place knowledge and a one rule fits all approach to selling properties. The difference between good and bad agents isn't smoke and mirrors marketing tricks, it's professional, knowledgeable staff with an in-depth understanding of local market conditions and the soft selling facts of individual properties combined with a proactive and motivated work ethic! Personally I would pay more for quality of service rather than a cheap fee where the agent simply hosts the property on line.
