Enquiry about my plot of land

I bought a freehold plot of land from St James Land 10 years ago with the following details: MRF 31 Land at Bushwood Farm, Shafford, Childwickbury Estate, St Albans, Hertfordshire. I have no clue about the current status of the plot and St James Land closed their business years ago. St Albans district council stated that the plot did not belong to the council and could not help on the status. Can anyone please advise how to find out the current status of the plot?

  • Hi - Would you be able to clarify what you mean by "current status"? As suggested by quip, you will usually be able to see restrictive covenants, easements, third party consents etc. via the Land Registry documentation. If you wish to see the historic planning status, then you should take a look on the local authority´s portal.

  • I actually have the same case. I've bought the land more than 10 years ago. However, I haven't heard any update from them. I read online that St. James Land changed their name company. I hope you could also let me know if you have any leads. Thank you!
