URGENT HELP NEEDED - Vendor wants to put house back on the market

I have had my mortgage agreed and my deposit is in the solicitors all paper work is done on my side. However my buyer is taking ages and now my vendor has decided to put the house back on the market and they have another buyer lined up. My buyer is days away from completing but as it's taken so long . They are not having any of it! Can two different buyers try and buy the house and which ever one completes first gets the house?

  • Two buyers can try and buy a house, traditionally called a "contract race", its not an ideal situation. If as you say your buyer is that close, point out to your seller your solicitor holds the deposit, and your ready to exchange with a detailed update on your buyer, to try not to loose your agreed purchase.

  • Hi Mont, Yes two buyers can compete but you sound well ahead of the pack! If your buyer gets their act together, you should secure the house hopefully. Good luck!
