What's it like to live in Lower Sydenham?
What kind of people live around here?
Are the people friendly?

It's nice, we live in fairlawn park. It's near the library and Home park which is being done up (refurbished adventure playground, outdoor gym, football markings. The houses around there are great. Some in Fairlawn have been done up recently to a high standard. The gardens are huge. Same story with some of the places up Sunnydene street. great value too and a sense of community. We know loads of people people on the admittedly shabby high street. The Dolphin is a great (gastro) pub, Trattoria Raffaele is a great Italian Restaurant and there seems to be a sense of things slowly getting better. The developments to the Greyhound look exciting as do the improvements to Sydenham Road which include some pocket markets.
In the summer last year (and hopefully this year too) they had a film show in Home Park. We know quite a few neighbours and you get a few hellos in the morning.
In short, we like it. Not perfect but people seem to care and are working hard to improve it.

I saw a flat today on Southend Lane. it's a new build and is lovely. however, I'm not familiar with the area and have so far been lucky to be able to live more into London and close to a tube station. the fact that this is not close to a station and it a very different area I'm a bit concerned on safety. This is my top priority as Im' a single female and walking back home late at night or when it gets dark early in winter.
Would be very helpful if anyone here could give me some poitners on how the area around southendlane is. There is a lidl supermarket across the road, which tells me, it's probably a nice area.

We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area.
You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page.
We hope this helps.
