What's it like to live in South Wimbledon?
What are the pros and cons of living here?
Is it an area on the up?

Until last year prices were rocketing in South Wimbledon but it's had the largest drops in house prices in the SW19 area. For example, one of the areas, the 'Battles' (Nelson Road, Hardy Road etc) was seeing prices of £450k+ only 18 months ago, now you can buy a two bed hosue there for £350k.
So it was an incredibly popular area a while back but now, people are starting to realise it's not worth what it was and the area isn't up to all that much. There are a couple of nice restaurants, new developments are there but you can't get away from the fact that it's dirty, the high rises are abysmal, there's tons of social (council) housing, crime is rather high and as soon as people have the money they tend to move away from there into main Wimbledon.
There are exceptions of course. South Park Gardens is an amazing area but I'm not sure you can class it as South Wimbledon really. Lovely park and nice schools.
So all in all, there are nicer areas, it's worth paying a few more quid and buying around the corner. Saying all of that, there are bargains to be had there at the moment but you'd have to decide if you can put up with the dirty roads, traffic, dodgy people and awful tube station, oh and a few rough pubs.

We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area.
You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page.
We hope this helps.
