  • Hi liz1lowery, There are a number of different ways to find out the age of the property you are looking at. The first of these is to contact the Land Registry. Because it is highly likely that the developer building the homes also sold them, you should be able to get details of when the land ownership was first transferred. This will give you a rough idea of when the property was constructed. Other options will include contacting the local council. If the flats are relatively new, then the council should hold details on the first time planning permission was granted for their construction - again this will give you a bit of a ballpark figure for when they were built. In general, you can also mostly get the age of a property by simply asking agents. Whoever last sold the property should be able to give you an insight as to when it was built, because their surveys carried out at the time should have the details of the home's age somewhere within them. Many thanks, Scott
