Septic tank or mains drainage?

Is there a difference in asking price on a bungalow if it has a septic tank and not connected to main drainage?

  • In theory if there were two identical properties for sale, one main drainage would probably be more desirable. In practice lack of main drainage is usually part and parcel of a rural location, the price will reflect the demand for that rural location.

  • I would agree, unless the bungalow has a number of additional redeeming features, mains drainage would probably be preferable to most people and therefore command a higher asking value.

  • If the area as a whole is septic tank - it shouldn't be an issue. if its a mixture - its the pain in the ar$e factor of a septic tank - which will make a small difference
