  • Hello Phil, assuming this is your own home (i.e. not a buy-to-let / commercial property acquisition), I would estimate the following: Stamp Duty - £27,500 Deposit (25%) - £187,500 Legal Fees - £850-£1,500 Mortgage Valuation - £500-£1,000 Structural Survey / Homebuyers Report (not mandatory) - £500-£1,000 Mortgage Arrangement Fee (this could be added on to the loan) - £1,000-£2,000 Electronic Transfer Fee - £50-£60 You may have to spend towards the higher end of the scale, given that you are buying a more expensive property. Note that you may incur a mortgage broker's fee as well - but many are not charging these days as they get their commission from the lender. I've also not included moving costs (removal vans etc.)
