  • It can become diffucult to rent with bad credit, as many referencing agencies will fail your referencing on the basis that you have not got a good track record of paying bills etc. There are a few options - look at your credit rating to see if any ccjs or defaults have been registered. If so - pay the ccj so that its satisfied and this can make a difference. Paying rent in advance - usually to the tune of 6 months will mean that you should be able to rent through an agency. if there is no ccj - you could have a uk based guarantor. they often need to be a homeowner and earning around 3 times the monthly rent private renting is also an option - if you explain the situation - some landlords will not mind. gumtree and paper ads are good sources of private landlords. i hope this helps Ciara
