Estate Agent Complaints
We're buying through independent agent in Wales. Aware we are not the agents client so we are not their financial responsibility. The agent failed to send out offer letters to all concerned and also miscommunicated the completion date to various parts of the chain. This negligence & lack of due diligence is now set to cost us money and time to sort out. Essentially one end of their office was working to one date, the other 11 days later. A simple offer letter should have cleared this up. We are relocating from London for this purchase so now have to find temp accommodation/storage for shortfall in dates Agent caused. Agent tried to push expense onto their client but we believe its to be the agents responsibility - therefore they should be the one to pay. As independent agent we don't think we can take it to ombudsman. What can we do to claim back expenses they've accrued for us and also make sure that their practices are looked into so that similar mistakes don't happen again.
