The house we've bought the sellers are in no rush to move!

We have recently sold our house and have had an offer accepted on another property. All our paperwork has been filled in and sent to the relevant people. However, today, my husband got a call from the Estate Agents for our house to say that the sellers had refused the surveys as they had not found anywhere to live yet. They didn't want either of us to lose any money should there be any problems with them finding somewhere. My question is, how long should we leave it before trying to get them done again? They're an elderly couple, the husband currently under going/about to start chemotherapy treatment. I don't want to be pushy, but at the same time I don't want to drag it out either. We have 2 young children, one of whom has just started Year 1. We have already agreed that he will need to go to a new school as his current school is too far from our new house. I'm not sure where we go from here? Can we be cheeky and ask for an end date?

  • Hello Laura, This is an unfortunate situation but, personally speaking, I would probably forget about it for the time being. You're still quite early in the process anyway and wouldn't have thought you have incurred any expenses. All the best, Ruban
